Wellness in the workplace.

I was delighted to Chair this Panel event for the GRC World Forums, Women in Governance Risk and Compliance Series featuring Samantha Coggins-Thompson, Chief Audit Executive, Computershare, who shared personal insights, and fellow ‘menopause at work’ experts Deborah Garlick of Henpicked, Menopause in the Workplace and Lauren Chiren of Women of a Certain Stage

With more and more people in menopause working through their 50s and into their 60s, employers face new challenges to support employees experiencing menopause whilst working. Employers need to respond urgently to proactively manage age-diverse workforces including those who may need specific considerations around menopause.

If employers make short-term investments now, understanding the simple adaptations to working environments, raising employee awareness about menopause, and creating opportunities for line manager training, they will be making gains towards prevention of long-term issues for people needing menopause related workplace support for now and future generations.

This session discusses the challenges for menopausal women in the workplace and recommendations for employers to best support these team members to make suitable adjustments to the physical and psychosocial work environment, provision of information and support, and training for line managers.
